Current status of the project (updated to February 2019): The first four individuals are in a pre-released cage in the Socorro reserve, soon to be released. Although the species is still present in Iberá, it is intended to help reinforce this population with the reintroduction of the species in areas of the Park where they are absent, as is the case of the Socorro reserve.
